A bright meteor was seen from the Bay Area on Wednesday evening at twilight. 
The meteor was just below our CAMS camera fields. We did detect a flash at 01:34:48 UT (17:34:48 PST) in one of our cameras at Lick Observatory aiming west-south-west -- CAMS stands for Cameras for Allsky Meteor Surveillance, led by SETI Institute senior research scientist Peter Jenniskens.

Many people reported this meteor to the American Meteor Society:

The meteor was relatively slow and there may have been a meteorite fall over the Pacific Ocean.
